Frequently Asked Questions

General:

A: We can work remotely or in person. We can serve clients across the U.S. (with video calls and secure portals). Local Colorado clients can meet in person by appointment.

A: Contact Us  so we can book a time to discuss your goals and books.  We can also discuss your questions during this meeting.  We can then propose a plan (scope, timelines, pricing) to start services.

A: We will send all new clients a New Client Intake Form.  This will inquire about your business, ownership, operation, etc. If we are doing your bookkeeping we will need recent bank/credit card statements or accountant access to online banking, access to your accounting file (or we can create one), payroll/merchant info, prior tax returns (if available), and any spreadsheets you currently rely on.

Services:

A: QuickBooks setup/cleanup, monthly bookkeeping, catch-up work, monthly closes and management reports, training for owners/staff, and tax planning & preparation.

A: Yes. We handle QBO/QB Desktop/Enterprise setup, chart-of-accounts design, app integrations, and cleanup of historical transactions

A: Definitely. We can train you (and your team) to read financials and use QuickBooks efficiently.

Pricing & Billing:

A: Clear scope with either hourly or fixed monthly packages, whichever makes more sense for your situation. Cleanup/catch-up as well as tax services are typically hourly while ongoing bookkeeping is usually a fixed monthly fee.

A: Month to month for most services. We ask for a 30-day notice to pause or cancel so we can close out your books properly.

A: We invoice electronically. ACH and card are both accepted. For monthly services, we typically set up autopay.

Bookkeeping & Reporting:

A: Most small businesses can be caught up in 2–6 weeks depending on complexity, number of accounts, and data access.

A: Yes, we can teach you to read and understand your financial statements so that they can become a resource to you and your business.

Taxes:

A: Both. We can handle tax planning and year end returns.

A: We will help you file extensions and get compliant as quickly as possible, then organize your books so your return can be filed accurately.

Security, Privacy & Portals:

A: We use a client portal for sharing files, invoices, and payments.  This portal is secure and encrypted.

A: We use bank level encryption, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access. We never sell or share your SMS consent with third parties.

A: Yes, your portal stores invoices, shared files, and messages so everything stays in one place.

Communication & Expectations:

A: During onboarding we meet more frequently; once stabilized, most clients prefer a monthly or quarterly review. We are available via email/portal in between.

A: Use the client portal for anything sensitive. For quick questions, email is great.  I can also be reached via text messages, or we can schedule a call if something needs discussion.
